UX/UI Case Study
Purpose of the project
The aim of this project was to create a platform where MTN employees would be able to have easy access to information, company news and other services such as IT.
Because there are so many different applications and platforms, it became necessary for the company to find or create a platform where all these needs could be met.
That is when the MTN custom-built Y’ello Hive App was created. Here, everything they needed could be grouped together to create one main platform that employees could carry around in their pockets.

The Problem
There were too many different needs that had to be met in order to do their jobs, and did not always have access to such as having IT support, receiving emails and news on different platforms, booking conference rooms, etc.
MTN needed a platform where all of these needs could be met, therefore needing an App where everything was centralised for easy access and easy navigation. Something employees could
use anywhere, anytime.
Project Goals
- To integrate the different apps and platforms already in use
- Creating one Central app with everything was easy to access
- Create a platform where continuous can be made for all the different needs to be met
- It must be able to work on Apple IOS as well as Android
- The app must be easy to navigate and function for MTN’s specific needs
The Solution
Employees log onto the App where they then choose an action from the tab. On this app they can now see news articles, updates, access their emails, request IT support, reset their passwords and even book rooms for meetings. The app is available only internally to all MTN employees.
